                 일상을 영어로 말하기 / 곧 생일인 친구 선물을 샀어요.

 

 

 

 I have a friend whose birthday is coming up and

                      yesterday I went out and got him a gift. 

 Actually, his birthday is next month

                 but he's going overseas on business soon

                        so I wanted to give it to him before he left.

 

 

 

       곧 생일인 친구가 있어서 어제 나가서 친구 줄 선물을 샀어요.

 

 

       I have a friend whose birthday is coming up and

       사실 그의 생일은 다음 달인데 걔가 곧 해외 출장을 나가서

             떠나기 전에 주고 싶었어요.

 

 

       Actually, his birthday is next month

                 but he's going to overseas on business soon

                          so I wanted to give it to him before he left. 

 

 

 

          get someone something : ~에게 ~를 사다주다, 갖다주다 (buy를 쓰면 안 됨)

 

          I bought my son's gift (X) : 아들의 선물을 내가 사는 의미가 됨(get을 써야 함)

 

          going overseas on business : 해외출장을 나가서

                  (일정 속에 잡혀 있는 미래는 현재진행형으로 가능,

                    영화 시간, 버스 스케줄 등 반복적으로 일어나는 단순 스케줄은

                       현재형으로!)

       

          the meeting is next month : 회의는 다음 달이다.
